This site is rather new, so it is in the process of growing and will continue to grow over time. I hope you come back often to see any updates. Thank you for visiting.
I am an author and poet. I write on many subjects, however my favorite genre is spirituality, mythology, and legends / folklore -- and that is what this site is all about.
I was born and grew up in the Pacific Northwest, USA, under the auspicious influence of Mount Rainier and her ever present magnificence. Stories of Tatoosh and other Indian legends abound in Washington state . Tatoosh is the mythological Thunderbird that Indian tribes of the area fear, respect and revere. Native American art of the Pacific Northwest is dominated by Tatoosh and bright, bold colors. To appease Tatoosh and keep The Great White Mountain (Mount Rainier) content, artwork of the great Thunderbird can be found all over the state.
I grew up with six siblings. With four brothers, two older than me and two younger, two sisters, one older and one younger, I was the middle child. I learned from the older ones and taught the younger ones -- except when I was independent and preferred to wander away on my own, which was often.
My father was a great story teller and it is from him that I picked up the gift of creating stories, which eventually lead me to writing and poetry to express that inherited talent. I have many crafts I love such as beading in Native American style, doll making and needlework, yet writing is my greatest passion of my creative side. My Dad would often have to come looking for me when he got home from work because no one knew where I was. Usually he found me high up in a tree, sitting on a large branch and reading a book.
I was born on Christmas Day, which over the years has been either a positive or negative issue. As a child, it rather hurt that I got presents only once a year. Because I was born on that special day, I was expected to be special, sweet and angelic -- this really hindered me at times to be a natural child full of mischief and trickery. On the other hand, when I did get in trouble, I was able to be the angelic Christmas child. So, either way I did not fully find myself till years later when childhood was far behind me. My childhood home was always busy with so many kids, and so many things going on, I longed for solitude. I was quiet and not very outgoing.
I moved from Washington to California when I was 18. After several years of marriage and a sad divorce , I moved back home to Washington in 1983, back to California in 1991, and finally to Nevada in 1996 where I reside now. After raising my two children, I decided it was time for me to do what I always wanted to and never had time for -- which is when I started writing seriously. I had written poems since I was young and one novel which I lost somewhere in time and that was it for my writing till 2007. Since then I have written for five websites. Now I decided to create my own web site and am having fun building on it.
I still write for HubPages where I enjoy writing on many subjects and where I am part of a great community. I also have two sites on Examiner.com which are Native American and Mythology.
I thank you for visiting this, my own web site. This is brand new and I have a lot of creating of other pages to do, so I appreciate your patience and hope you return to check up on how things are going here. Eventually I will have tabs up at the top of this page to take you into other realms. If you would like to contact me, there is a tab above which will take you to a contact form.
May you always walk in peace and harmony and may your journey through these pages be pleasant.
